Which athletes, coaches, technicians, officials or other sports professionals does the pathway cover?

Sports instructors under the "Skilled Labor" status: persons with sports-instruction experience, or former athletes who competed in the Olympics, world championships or other international competitions, engaged in sports-instruction work.

What sporting level, achievement, professional status, recognition or other sports-specific condition distinguishes the pathway?

At least 3 years of practical experience in instructing the sport (including time majoring in it at a foreign educational institution and time paid to play the sport), or a person designated as equivalent by Ministry of Justice notice; or having competed as an athlete in the Olympic Games, world championships or other international competitions. Pay must be at least equal to that of a Japanese national.
