When teaching at a miscellaneous school or equivalent institution, or in a non-teacher post at other institutions: the applicant must hold a university degree (or equivalent), a qualifying Japanese vocational-school diploma in the subject, or a teaching licence; must have 12 or more years of education in the foreign language to be taught, or 5 or more years of experience teaching the other subject at an educational institution; and must receive pay at least equal to a Japanese national.
