Education at an Independent School in the Isle of Man for children at least 4 years old and under 18.
This route is for children at least 4 years old and under the age of 18 who wish to be educated in the Isle of Man at an Independent School.
The child must have a place on an eligible course and a corresponding Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from the sponsoring institution. Schools maintained by the Department of Education, Sports and Culture are not permitted to sponsor students under this route.

The applicant needs the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and enough money to cover course fees and living costs. The official source does not state an insurance or attendance requirement.

A Child Student may work only if they are 16 or over: part-time during term for up to 10 hours per week, full-time during vacations, and on a work placement for not more than 50% of their course time.

The length of the grant depends on age and course duration. Under 16, the grant is the shortest of the period requested, the course duration, or 6 years, plus up to 4 months after the course ends. Aged 16 or 17, the grant is the shortest of the period requested, the course duration, or 3 years, plus up to 4 months after the course ends. Migrants under this visa cannot settle in the UK. The child's parents cannot accompany as dependants on this visa; a parent who wants to accompany must apply separately for a Parent of a Child Student visa.
