What sporting/work activity is permitted, what club or activity restrictions exist, and what is the family position?

The visa allows the holder to be paid to perform or take part in an event lasting 14 days or less. It does not allow being paid for an event of 15 days or longer, any other work (paid or unpaid), or reliance on Irish public services. A successful applicant must request 'permission to work' at border control on arrival and bring documents such as the original contract. The official source does not state the family position.

How long does the status last, how does renewal or change of club work where stated, and what longer-term residence possibilities exist?

The visa allows a stay of up to 90 days. An extension is possible only in rare and exceptional circumstances that change unexpectedly after arrival. The official source does not state any longer-term residence possibility.
