How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

The media visa is a short-term visa. The Iranian embassy in Stockholm states a maximum stay of 90 days for a single-entry visa and 30 days per entry for a double-entry visa. No renewal or longer-term route is stated.
