How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

The permit is valid for a maximum of 6 months and can be extended for a period not exceeding 6 months within a period of 12 months. Applications for extension may only be submitted via the Enter Hungary platform, and extension is only possible if the applicant holds a valid residence permit at the time of application and has resided in Hungary with it for at least 90 days in any 180-day period.     Please be informed that the extension of the residence permit is only possible if - you are a holder of a valid residence permit at the time of application submission, - you resided within the territory of Hungary with your residence permit at least for 90 days in any 180-day period.
