What type of worker, employment situation, occupation or professional activity is this pathway actually designed for?

The non-immigrant visa covers a foreign national employed by the Haitian State or by an agricultural, industrial or commercial enterprise. It also covers a person authorised to reside for a fixed period longer than three months.

Does the applicant need a job offer, employer, sponsor, transfer relationship or other employer involvement? What is important about that employer relationship?

For an employment-based long stay, the current official consular procedure requires a letter from the applicant’s employer, or from the person supporting the applicant, guaranteeing the foreign national’s stay in Haiti and repatriation if necessary. An employing organisation must also supply its business licence, or operating authorisation for an NGO.

What are the few decisive professional characteristics of the pathway: occupation, qualifications, experience, salary, skill level, shortage status, labour-market condition or equivalent?

The pathway’s decisive fit is employment by the Haitian State or by an agricultural, industrial or commercial enterprise, or another authorised fixed stay exceeding three months. The official governing and current procedural sources state no general occupation list, qualification, salary, skill-level, shortage or labour-market threshold.

What work does the permission allow? Is the holder tied to an employer, occupation or sector? Can family accompany where clearly established?

The visa authorises the employment or fixed stay for which it was granted and remains valid for that employment or authorised stay. It does not authorise the holder to conduct commerce for personal profit. The official sources do not establish employer-transfer, occupation-change or accompanying-family rights.

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

The visa is valid for the duration of the employment or authorised stay. The Ministry responsible for the interior may renew or end visas. After arrival, the associated stay permit is valid for the fiscal year from 1 October to 30 September and is renewed annually; the renewal application requires proof that income tax for the previous fiscal year was paid. No longer-term residence conversion is stated for this route in the official sources.
