Which nationalities and age range can participate?

Canadian citizens holding a Canadian passport, aged 18 to 35 inclusive on the date the consulate receives the application.

What combination of travel, work, study or training does the programme permit?

Internship: registered post-secondary or higher-education students who complete in Greece a pre-arranged practical training linked to their field of study, as part of their curriculum. The permit gives access to practical training (not general work) for up to 12 months.

What are the defining limitations: quota, ballot, previous participation, employer limits, study limits or equivalent?

An annual maximum number of participants is set by diplomatic note on a reciprocal basis. A person can take part at most twice, with a break between stays, each time in a different category, and each stay no longer than 12 months. Dependants are not part of the individual application. Participants must show proof of registration as a post-secondary or higher-education student at home and a pre-arranged practical-training contract with a host-country employer, related to the field of study and forming part of the curriculum.

What funds, insurance, onward travel or similar preparation is particularly important?

Before arrival, applicants need a departure ticket or enough money to leave, proof of sufficient funds for the start of the stay, and full health insurance for the whole stay (medical repatriation, urgent care, emergency hospital treatment, death), shown before the visa is issued; a criminal record and a medical certificate must also be given to the Greek consulate.
