What education or training is this pathway designed for?

A traineeship (practical training) for people who obtained a higher-education degree within the two years before applying, or who are enrolled in a course leading to a higher-education degree; the traineeship must be in the same field and speciality as the studies.

What type of institution/course must accept or enrol the applicant?

The host must be an approved host entity (approved under art. 102). A traineeship agreement between the higher-education institution and the approved host entity is required. It must state the programme, educational goal, duration, placement and supervision, hours and legal relationship. Recent graduates (within 2 years) instead need an employment contract with an approved host entity.

    ζ) προσκομίζουν σύμβαση πρακτικής άσκησης, μεταξύ του ιδρύματος τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης και του εγκεκριμένου φορέα υποδοχής, η οποία προβλέπει πρακτική άσκηση του ασκούμενου. Η σύμβαση πρακτικής άσκησης και οι όροι αυτής πρέπει να πληρούν τις απαιτήσεις που έχουν θεσπιστεί με την απόφαση της περ. α’ της παρ. 54 του άρθρου 176. Η σύμβαση πρακτικής άσκησης περιλαμβάνει: ζα) τα προσωπικά στοιχεία του ασκούμενου, ζβ) την περιγραφή του προγράμματος πρακτικής άσκησης, συμπεριλαμβανομένου του εκπαιδευτικού στόχου ή των στοιχείων κατάρτισης, ζγ) τη διάρκεια της πρακτικής άσκησης, ζδ) την τοποθέτηση σε θέση πρακτικής άσκησης στον φορέα υποδοχής και τους όρους εποπτείας της πρακτικής άσκησης, ζε) το ωράριο της πρακτικής άσκησης και ζστ) τη νομική σχέση μεταξύ του ασκούμενου και του φορέα υποδοχής. Στην περίπτωση ασκούμενων πολιτών τρίτων χωρών, οι οποίοι έχουν αποκτήσει πτυχίο τριτοβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης εντός των δύο (2) ετών που προηγούνται της ημερομηνίας της αίτησης εισδοχής, απαιτείται σύμβαση εργασίας για την απόκτηση εμπειρίας σε εργασιακό περιβάλλον με εγκεκριμένο φορέα υποδοχής.

What are the most important financial or study-related conditions: tuition, funds, insurance, full-time study, attendance or equivalent?

The applicant needs full sickness insurance for the whole stay and sufficient resources for living and traineeship costs and the return trip. Sufficiency is assessed case by case and can come from a grant, scholarship or employment contract with the host entity. The national visa fee must have been paid. No fixed amount is stated in the law; it is set by a ministerial decision.

Η θεώρηση εισόδου για πρακτική άσκηση (τίτλος διαμονής τύπου «Η.4») είναι ισόχρονη με τη σύμβαση πρακτικής άσκησης, δεν μπορεί να υπερβαίνει, συνολικά, τους έξι (6) μήνες και δεν δύναται να ανανεωθεί. Τα πρόσωπα του πρώτου εδαφίου οφείλουν να εγκαταλείψουν αμέσως το ελληνικό έδαφος, μετά τη λήξη της πρακτικής άσκησης, χωρίς άλλες διατυπώσεις.
