What are the few decisive professional characteristics of the pathway: occupation, qualifications, experience, salary, skill level, shortage status, labour-market condition or equivalent?

Must already hold a Blue Card from another EU state where they have stayed 12 months; salary threshold is 1.6 times the average gross annual salary in Greece; if they worked less than 2 years as highly skilled in the first state (unregulated professions), documents of higher professional qualifications for the job are needed.

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

Validity is 'variable subject to conditions', and the official source does not state renewal. For EU long-term resident status, residence in different Member States can be cumulated: holders who used long-term mobility need 5 years of legal continuous residence (as EU Blue Card holder, national highly qualified permit holder, researcher, where applicable student, or international-protection beneficiary), plus 2 years as Blue Card holder in Greece immediately before applying.
