    When you get a job, you do not have to apply for a new permit because the permit includes an unrestricted right to work. Apply for a new permit at the earliest three months before the expiration date of your current permit.

How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

The first or extended permit can last for a maximum of two years; it may be used in three parts, each at least six months, with the last part ending within three years of the first part’s start.
