This route is for people who will work in the top or middle management of a company.

Limits of the record
  • Captured route-specific text is available, but the page excerpt does not by itself establish every material qualification for this question.

Does the applicant need a job offer, employer, sponsor, transfer relationship or other employer involvement? What is important about that employer relationship?

The employer must be a large enterprise whose number of employees and turnover are high enough, with a clear division between top and middle management; the employer supplements the terms of employment.

Limits of the record
  • The capture states the employer-side conditions but not every corporate-size threshold.

What are the few decisive professional characteristics of the pathway: occupation, qualifications, experience, salary, skill level, shortage status, labour-market condition or equivalent?

The work must consist of managerial duties, and the employing company must be large enough to have both top and middle management with a clear division between them. Salary must reach the minimum in the relevant collective agreement; where there is no collective agreement or the work is part-time, it must be at least EUR 1,463 per month in 2026.

What work does the permission allow? Is the holder tied to an employer, occupation or sector? Can family accompany where clearly established?

The right to work covers the work for which the residence permit was granted; it begins when the permit is granted (work cannot start before) and ends when the permit expires. The official source does not state whether the holder may change employer or the position of accompanying family.

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

A first residence permit is usually granted for at most one year (shorter or longer depending on the grounds). An extended permit (applied for before the first permit expires, if the holder decides to stay) can be issued for up to four years, its length depending on the duration of the employment relationship. Longer term, this ground is accepted as a basis for a permanent residence permit: e.g. at least 6 years on a continuous (A) permit with 2 years' work history in Finland and B1 Finnish/Swedish, or at least 4 years on an A permit with taxable income of at least EUR 40,000.

  • The route page does not say whether this permit is issued as a continuous (A) or temporary (B) permit; the permanent-residence page lists this ground among accepted grounds for a continuous (A) permit.
