A paid internship requires one of: applying within two years of completing a higher education degree; current higher-education studies with the internship matching the field; or being aged 18-30 and studying at a university outside Finland (Finnish/Swedish language, or a field matching the internship). The intern must be paid at least the collective-agreement salary, or at least EUR 1,463 gross per month in 2026 where there is none. An unpaid traineeship must be through a training programme with maintained and established activity and educational objectives.
