For stays shorter than 3 months: invited researchers or lecturers; artists, musicians or performers with a prior agreement with a Faroese organiser; representatives of foreign companies without a Faroese branch on a business trip; household staff of visiting foreign nationals; professional athletes or coaches; and fitters, consultants or instructors installing, inspecting or repairing machines, equipment, computer programmes or similar items.

You can work in the Faroe Islands without a work permit if your stay is shorter than 3 months, and if you are: a researcher or a lecturer who has been invited to teach or lecture on the Faroe Islands, an artist, musician, performer or similar, and you have made an agreement with an organiser on the Faroe Islands prior to your event,
