For the relevant traveller scope, is a visa, electronic authorisation, visa on arrival or no advance visa normally required?

Under regulation 34 and the Sixth Schedule, no visa is required for: holders of a valid Residence Permit under the repealed Act; holders of a valid entry permit or pass under the Immigration Act 1982; Commonwealth citizens and citizens of the Republic of Ireland except Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India and Mauritius; and citizens of Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, San Marino, South Africa, Sweden, Uruguay, the United States and Portugal.

The route covers any temporary purpose other than the sole purpose of a holiday. The holder may not accept or engage in any form of employment, paid or unpaid, without the written permission of the Chief Immigration Officer.

What maximum stay, rolling-period rule, validity and entry rules apply?

A visitor's pass entitles the holder to enter within the period specified and remain for the period specified, not exceeding six months from the date of entry; extensions are possible but the aggregate validity may in no case exceed one year from the date of entry.

What important funds, accommodation, invitation, insurance, onward-travel or passport evidence may be required?

The application form asks for the passport or other travel document number, reasons for visiting, approximate arrival date and duration of stay, and address in Swaziland. A cash deposit of up to E1000, or security for a like amount, may be required as a condition of issue.

The person applies to the Chief Immigration Officer in Form 10 for a visitor's pass. An immigration officer may extend the validity of a visitor's pass for such further period as he determines and may vary its terms or conditions.
