    You are considered a family member iff you are an alien who is not a citizen of the EU (except Estonia) and are an EU citizen’s: spouse child up to 21 years of age or dependant adult child, i.e. dependant child spouse’s child up to 21 years of age or dependant adult child, i.e. dependant child dependant parent or grandparent spouse’s dependant parent or grandparent dependant or member of household under a common household in the country of departure other dependant person or person who needs care by EU citizen.

Who may sponsor or bring the family member, and what immigration/citizenship status must that person hold?

A citizen of an EU member state, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland; an Estonian citizen is not considered an EU citizen for this purpose.

What is important for proving marriage, partnership, parentage, custody, dependency or another qualifying relationship?
