For the relevant traveller scope, is a visa, electronic authorisation, visa on arrival or no advance visa normally required?

Under Law No. 875 of 31 July 1978 on visas, foreigners entering Dominican territory must hold visas, except nationals of countries with which the Dominican Republic has signed visa-waiver agreements for tourism. Under Decree 691-07, foreigners with permanent residence or a valid multiple-entry visa of the United States, the European Union (Schengen), Canada or Great Britain may enter for tourism with only a valid passport and a Tourist Card.
