No visa is needed to enter Dominica for: nationals of Commonwealth countries, CARICOM member states, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and the United States; nationals of Argentina, Belgium, Costa Rica, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands (including Netherland Antilles), Norway, People's Republic of China, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Suriname, Sweden, United Kingdom and Venezuela; and passengers on tourist vessels.

Where/how is permission obtained when required, and under what important circumstances can a stay be extended or changed?

A stay can be extended by applying for an Extension of Stay before the time given at the port of entry expires, through an application/interview in person with the Inspector-in-Charge of Immigration, with a valid passport, valid return ticket, sufficient funds for the intended stay and a local address. Fees: CARICOM nationals EC$25 (under one month) or EC$50 (one to three months); non-CARICOM nationals EC$50 or EC$100.
