What type of worker, employment situation, occupation or professional activity is this pathway actually designed for?

An accompanying family member who holds or applies for residence as the family member of someone working in Denmark needs this work permit to take a job with the sponsor's employer or a closely related company.

    You must apply for a work permit if you hold or apply for a residence permit as an accompanying family member to a person with a residence permit under one of the schemes mentioned below (i.e your sponsor) and wish to take up employment at the same company as your sponsor or with a company closely related to it.

The job offer or contract must show at least 30 working hours per week and salary and terms no worse than Danish standards in the relevant professional field.

The permit authorises work only in the approved position and company; a new job with the sponsor's employer or a closely related company needs a new permit before work begins.

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

The work permit is valid for the period of employment but cannot exceed the residence permit, and may expire before it. If the sponsor gets a new permit to work for the family member’s employer or a closely related company, the family member must apply for a work permit within 14 days; applying within 14 days of the sponsor starting the new job allows working while SIRI assesses.
