Anyone offered a job in Denmark paying at least DKK 446,000 a year (2026 level), with no specific education or professional field required; asylum seekers with such a job can also apply.

Does the applicant need a job offer, employer, sponsor, transfer relationship or other employer involvement? What is important about that employer relationship?

Yes. A job offer is required; the employer must have posted the job on both Jobnet and the EURES portal for at least 2 weeks (and not more than 6 months) before the application and declare this; the permit is linked to the job.

What are the few decisive professional characteristics of the pathway: occupation, qualifications, experience, salary, skill level, shortage status, labour-market condition or equivalent?

Minimum annual salary DKK 446,000 (2026 level, regulated each 1 January) paid into a Danish bank account; full time (37-40 hours/week); no fine of DKK 3,000+ in the prior 2 years; only available while seasonally adjusted gross unemployment has not exceeded 3.75% on average over the prior 3 months.

Tied to the specific job (a new position in the same company needs a new permit); sideline work needs a separate permit. Spouse/partner and children under 18 living at home can accompany.

Normally 5 years if employment is 5+ years, otherwise the employment period; extension on extended employment, applied for before expiry.
