Limits of the record
  • The authority assesses whether the specific qualifications meet the route standard.

What achievements, recognition, awards, publications, reputation or other evidence establishes the required level?

The applicant must have special individual qualifications meaning others cannot immediately perform the offered job, e.g. special knowledge, expertise or relevant personal qualities in a specific field (example: professional jockey). SIRI looks at educational background, professional experience and relevant personal qualities, and the applicant must document the qualifications.

Is an employer, nominator, recognised body, peer group or government endorsement required?

Employer involvement is required: the applicant must attach the employment contract or job offer stating all terms and state the job’s work tasks (in the contract or the online application); as a general rule the employment agreement must be with a company registered in Denmark (exceptions e.g. foreign service providers).

Can the holder change employer, work independently, establish a business or conduct other professional activity? What is the family position?

The holder is only allowed to work in the job and in the company for which the permit was granted. If offered a new job, including in the same company, the holder must apply for a new work permit. A sideline job requires a separate permit. The holder is entitled to perform unpaid voluntary work. The permit does not allow work in other Schengen countries. The official source does not state the family position.
