Can the student work? Under what major restrictions? What is the family position where clearly stated?

The permit includes a limited work permit: up to 90 hours per month September-May and full time June-August, the same right to work as during studies; full-time work requires a work permit without limitations, and excess hours are illegal (fine or revocation). A job needing more hours requires a new residence and work permit before starting. Family: spouse or cohabiting partner and children under 18 at home can be granted a permit; existing accompanying family can extend.

How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

Graduates can get a residence permit valid for 6 months for job seeking. SIRI automatically grants the 6-month period with the study permit if passport validity allows; a separate application is only needed if the study permit was shortened by passport expiry or the programme was completed after the prescribed period. After passport renewal an extension can be sought no earlier than 3 months before expiry. Full-time work during the period requires a work permit without limitations.
