What education or training is this pathway designed for?

Educational Attachment is for students active in or enrolled at an educational institution whose programme can lead to a job that could become grounds for a residence permit under the Positive List for Skilled Work or the Positive List for People with a Higher Education.

See recorded sources

What type of institution/course must accept or enrol the applicant?

The applicant must have been enrolled in an educational programme in Denmark when the previous permit was refused extension or revoked (or EU residence right expired); Ukraine special-law holders must document enrolment when applying. The institution must be publicly accredited (no private institutions), and the programme must be able to lead to a job function that can ground a permit under the Positive List for Skilled Work or the Positive List for People with a Higher Education.

What are the most important financial or study-related conditions: tuition, funds, insurance, full-time study, attendance or equivalent?

As a general rule part-time study is not accepted; a documented full-time programme followed at reduced hours due to partial sick leave or disability counts as full-time, and single subjects are not a full-time programme. The applicant must speak and understand the language of instruction well enough to participate actively. The official source does not state a funds, insurance or tuition-payment condition for this route.

Limits of the record
  • The captured page states no self-support (funds), insurance or tuition-payment condition for this route; it is unknown whether any applies.

Can the student work? Under what major restrictions? What is the family position where clearly stated?

The permit grants limited work: 90 hours per month from September to May and full-time in June, July and August. It does not allow work in other Schengen countries. Family cannot obtain accompanying residence on this basis, although family reunification may be available if its conditions are met.

How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

The permit lasts the nominal duration of the programme while actively studying, extendable (apply at the earliest 4 months before expiry) if not completed on time; after completing a full higher education programme a 6-month job-seeking permit is available, and a job offer can lead to a new work-based permit.
