Does the applicant need a job offer, employer, sponsor, transfer relationship or other employer involvement? What is important about that employer relationship?

The checked official sources did not provide enough route-specific evidence to confirm the employer, sponsor or transfer relationship required.

Limits of the record
  • No route-specific positive claim was persisted in this batch.

What are the few decisive professional characteristics of the pathway: occupation, qualifications, experience, salary, skill level, shortage status, labour-market condition or equivalent?

The decisive professional condition is an assessment by the Danish Patient Safety Authority that the dentist's primary qualifications are eligible for testing towards Danish authorisation; a copy of that assessment must accompany the application.

What work does the permission allow? Is the holder tied to an employer, occupation or sector? Can family accompany where clearly established?

A residence permit to obtain Danish authorisation gives the right to work, and the holder does not need to apply for a work permit on getting a job; it does not allow work in other Schengen countries. Family may accompany: a permit can be granted to a spouse, registered or cohabiting partner and children under 18 living at home.

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

For dentists, as a general rule a residence permit can be granted for 3 years. The permit can be extended for 2 more years if documentation shows the Danish 3 Exam was passed with the required scores. If in the middle of employment for adaption and training purposes or with a specific offer, an extension beyond 5 years may be possible up to a maximum of 6 months. No longer-term residence direction is stated.
