For the relevant traveller scope, is a visa, electronic authorisation, visa on arrival or no advance visa normally required?

For nationals of EU member states, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan, the official Kingdom visa matrix lists those nationalities as visa-exempt for Curaçao tourist travel. No advance Caribbean visa is normally required for those named nationalities; entry still depends on the other border conditions.

The LTU tourist definition lists recreation, sport, health reasons, family matters, study, religious purposes and business visits, provided the visitor performs no paid work in Curaçao. This describes the permitted short-visit purpose, not a work-authorisation route.

What important funds, accommodation, invitation, insurance, onward-travel or passport evidence may be required?

At the border a traveler must show a valid passport, a visa if their nationality requires one, and the purpose and planned duration of the visit plus sufficient funds. For visa-free travel, NetherlandsWorldwide further requires a passport issued no more than ten years ago and valid for the entire stay, proof of ability to return or transit, and evidence of the visit reason such as a hotel booking or invitation. It lists funding guidance of USD 150–200 per person per day in a hotel or USD 100 with family, or a sponsor bearing financial responsibility; medical/travel insurance must cover at least USD 15,000 for hospital care, emergency treatment and repatriation. The visitor must not threaten public order, public health, national security or international relations. Curaçao’s airport border page also requires an ED card.

    Entry requirements If you want to travel to the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom, you must meet certain requirements: Your passport cannot have been issued more than 10 years ago. Your passport must be valid for the whole of your stay. You must have proof that you can return to your country of departure, or transit to another country. This could be a passport, residence permit or visa. You can provide proof of the reason for your stay. For instance, a hotel reservation or an invitation from family or friends. You have enough money to cover your stay and any other expenses: when staying in a hotel: between 150 and 200 US dollars per person per day when staying with family: 100 US dollars per person per day when you have proof of sponsorship: your sponsor bears financial responsibility You must have valid medical insurance or travel insurance that covers medical expenses. The insurance must provide cover for at least 15,000 US dollars in medical expenses and include hospital care, emergency treatment and repatriation (including in the event of death). You must not be considered a threat to public order, public health, national security or international relations.
