What type of worker, employment situation, occupation or professional activity is this pathway actually designed for?

The Law on Foreigners identifies members of international scientific missions who conduct research in BiH approved by the Council of Ministers as a no-work-permit class.

Limits of the record
  • The captured SFA PB-5.3 form is titled “scientific research” and maps to the distinct Article 76 residence basis; it is not used to establish the Article 77(2)(d) mission route. See BA-D-2026-09-13-17.
  • No independent literal or legal review has been performed.

Does the applicant need a job offer, employer, sponsor, transfer relationship or other employer involvement? What is important about that employer relationship?

The engaging body is the international scientific mission whose research in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been approved by the Council of Ministers. Rulebook Article 44 (temporary residence of members of international scientific missions, form PB-7-4-4) requires evidence of membership of the mission with the engagement period, evidence that the Council of Ministers approved the research, and an undertaking by the engaging Bosnian body to bear accommodation, medical, subsistence and departure costs. This is a distinct basis from the Article 40 scientific-research residence (form PB-7-3).

Limits of the record
  • The Rulebook 25/16 base text is cited from the ILO NATLEX reproduction (the gazette original is image-only); the captured amendments 83/22 and 57/24 do not amend Article 44.

What are the few decisive professional characteristics of the pathway: occupation, qualifications, experience, salary, skill level, shortage status, labour-market condition or equivalent?

The statute’s decisive feature is Council of Ministers approval of research conducted in BiH by members of an international scientific mission. This provision states no degree, experience, salary or investment threshold.

Limits of the record
  • The Article 76 research form includes different qualification documents and is not attributed to this route.
  • No independent literal or legal review has been performed.

What work does the permission allow? Is the holder tied to an employer, occupation or sector? Can family accompany where clearly established?

Members in this class can work without a work permit. Those staying on a visa, visa-free basis or prior temporary residence need a work-registration certificate before starting; applicants granted temporary residence under Article 71(d) do not receive that certificate. The cited rule does not state a family entitlement.

Limits of the record
  • Special residence conditions are delegated to a Ministry bylaw not verified in this run.
  • No independent literal or legal review has been performed.

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

Unless a specific provision states otherwise, temporary residence may be granted for up to one year and extended on the same basis. Article 80 excludes Article 77 no-work-permit residence from the general permanent-residence qualifying period.

Limits of the record
  • This is the Article 77(2)(d) route, not the separate Article 76 researcher route; the applicable special application conditions remain pending.
  • No independent literal or legal review has been performed.
