What education or training is this pathway designed for?

This pathway covers a foreigner’s own professional development, training or practice placement at a diplomatic mission or consular post accredited in Bosnia and Herzegovina, at a Bosnian institution, or at a legal entity seated in the country. It is handled as work without a work permit on a certificate of registered work for up to 90 days in a year, not as a study residence permit.

What type of institution/course must accept or enrol the applicant?

The accepting body must be a diplomatic mission or consular post accredited in Bosnia and Herzegovina, an institution in the country, or a legal entity seated there; the certificate file needs that body’s acceptance document showing the period of the training or practice.

Limits of the record
  • The certificate document list is cited from the ILO NATLEX reproduction of the Rulebook on Entry and Stay of Aliens 25/16; the Official Gazette original is published as scanned images only, and later amendments (83/22, 57/24) did not amend this article according to their captured texts.

What are the most important financial or study-related conditions: tuition, funds, insurance, full-time study, attendance or equivalent?

No tuition, funds or insurance threshold is published for this class: the file consists of a copy of the travel document, the acceptance document showing the placement period, and proof of payment of the administrative fee (100 BAM for the certificate). Because no residence is granted, the general temporary-residence means and insurance conditions do not apply to the certificate itself.

  • No official source publishes a funds or insurance amount specific to this class; treat any such amount as not published.

Can the student work? Under what major restrictions? What is the family position where clearly stated?

The certificate itself is the work authorisation: it allows only the training or practice named in the certificate, while a visa, visa-free stay or approved temporary residence is valid, for up to 90 days in a year, and it must be issued before the activity starts. It creates no separate right to other employment. This mechanism does not address family members; any family residence is governed by the separate family-reunification rules.

How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

The certificate does not grant temporary residence and has no renewal track: it is capped at 90 days in a year, and anyone who intends to work longer must obtain a work permit and a residence permit on the basis of employment with a work permit. No post-training status flows from the certificate; a longer placement or any employment requires the ordinary work-permit and residence route.
