What type of worker, employment situation, occupation or professional activity is this pathway actually designed for?

This is the general paid-employment route requiring an employer-sponsored work permit and temporary residence. Paid work requires the permit before entry unless an express legal or treaty exception applies.

Limits of the record
  • No consolidated 2026 text or independent review is available in this run.
  • No independent literal or legal review has been performed.

Does the applicant need a job offer, employer, sponsor, transfer relationship or other employer involvement? What is important about that employer relationship?

A prospective BiH employer, whether a legal or natural person, applies for the work permit to the competent employment authority based on the employer’s location. The SFA residence form then asks for the issued permit.

Limits of the record
  • The named employer and issuing body depend on the employer’s location.
  • No independent literal or legal review has been performed.

What are the few decisive professional characteristics of the pathway: occupation, qualifications, experience, salary, skill level, shortage status, labour-market condition or equivalent?

The permit is for a defined job or type of work and may be issued within the annual quota or under a statutory out-of-quota provision. The employer’s application identifies the job and conditions and explains why foreign employment is justified; the sources do not establish a general skill or salary threshold for this route.

Limits of the record
  • A current occupation quota or any route-specific professional threshold is not established here.
  • No independent literal or legal review has been performed.

What work does the permission allow? Is the holder tied to an employer, occupation or sector? Can family accompany where clearly established?

The holder may work only after temporary residence is approved and only for the employer and job/type covered by the work permit supporting that residence. A change of employer requires a new permit or proof that its application was filed within the statutory period. The consulted materials do not establish a family rule.

Limits of the record
  • The exact application of the statutory period and family position require confirmation from current procedural guidance.
  • No independent literal or legal review has been performed.

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

Temporary residence lasts for the permit’s validity plus 30 days, capped at one year, and may be extended under the same conditions. A separate permanent-residence application may be made under the general five-year rule and its other conditions; this is not automatic conversion.

Limits of the record
  • The permanent-residence decision is separate and discretionary; no individual outcome is inferred.
  • No independent literal or legal review has been performed.

These are the answers currently recorded in the catalogue. A missing or partial answer is not an eligibility decision.
