Citizens of most countries require visa to enter Bangladesh.
Under Visa Policy-2026, the Tourist (T) visa covers recreation, tourism, casual visits to meet friends or relatives, and attending a conference, workshop, study tour, seminar or similar. Employment in Bangladesh is prohibited.
Tourist visa:
Under Visa Policy-2026, the total duration of a Tourist (T) visa 'shall be up to 03(three) months with multiple entry'; if the visa is issued for less than three months, it may be extended for the remaining period, with single entry. Any extension application must be lodged 15 days before expiry.

Application for an extension of visa has to be made 15 days before the expiry of the visa. If application is lodged after the expiry date, penalty and visa regularization fee (country fee) shall be applicable on the ground of overstay.

A citizen of a non-prohibited country may obtain a T visa from a Bangladesh mission in a third country. The Canberra guidance says processing takes at least ten working days, subject to possible clearance delays, and applications are not processed until requirements are fulfilled. A T visa issued for less than three months may be extended for the remaining period, and any extension application must be lodged 15 days before expiry.
