The general duration rule applies: up to one year for the period requested, extendable up to two years at a time while the highly-qualified-specialist ground remains. The separate three-year duration applies only to Article 45.1.2 (investment) and 45.1.4-1 (Article 64.0.8-1 specialists), not to this ground. Permit for temporary residence on the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan is issued for the period mentioned on the application of an applicant, but for the period not exceeding 1 year, except the cases set forth in Article 45.1.2 and 45.1.4-1 (concerning highly skilled migrants) of the Migration Code, and it can be extended each time for the period not exceeding 2 years, if there is a relevant ground.
