Which nationalities and age range can participate?
The applicant must have previously entered Australia on a subclass 417 visa, hold a substantive visa (or have had one expire less than 28 days ago) if currently in Australia, hold a passport from an eligible country or jurisdiction, be aged 18 to 30 (or up to 35 for some passport countries), have completed 3 months of specified subclass 417 work (waived for UK passport holders applying on or after 1 July 2024), not be accompanied by dependent children, and apply alone. The applicant must also meet health and character requirements.

UK passport holders can be granted a second Working Holiday (subclass 417) visa without having to meet the 3 months of specified subclass 417 work if they apply on or after 1 July 2024 using their UK passport.
