The official page does not require specific achievements, awards or publications. Academic standing is established through the hiring institution: a note from the institution justifying the hiring, signed and certified before a notary public, and a contract signed by the parties before a notary public, under academic agreements between higher education institutions in specialised areas.

Is an employer, nominator, recognised body, peer group or government endorsement required?

Yes, an endorsement from the contracting higher education institution is required. The institution must provide a note justifying the hiring, signed and certified before a notary public, and must be registered in the National Directorate of Migration's Unique Registry of Applicants for Foreigners.

Can the holder change employer, work independently, establish a business or conduct other professional activity? What is the family position?

Once the temporary residence is granted the holder may carry out any paid or profit-making activity, self-employed or as an employee, but only for the period of the authorised stay (Law 25.871, art. 51). The official source does not state the family position.
