What type of worker, employment situation, occupation or professional activity is this pathway actually designed for?

H.1 is Andorra's short-duration works notification. It authorises the holder to reside and carry out only works whose duration does not exceed 30 calendar days per calendar year. It is used by a person who wants to engage the services of a foreign company or a foreign self-employed professional for a short period not exceeding 30 calendar days per calendar year.

  • H.1 — what the notification permits
Autoritza a residir i a executar únicament treballs d’una durada que no excedeixi els 30 dies naturals per any natural.
  • H.1 — who can apply
Vulgui contractar els serveis d’una empresa estrangera o d’un professional autònom estranger per un període de curta durada que no excedeixi 30 dies naturals per any natural.

Does the applicant need a job offer, employer, sponsor, transfer relationship or other employer involvement? What is important about that employer relationship?

The beneficiary of the works is central: the short-duration works notification must be signed in advance by the beneficiary of the works and sent at least 24 hours ahead. The worker must also evidence their link to the foreign company if they are an employee, or their self-employed status if they hold that condition, and a declaration of service provision by foreign companies issued by the Customs Department must be filed.

What are the few decisive professional characteristics of the pathway: occupation, qualifications, experience, salary, skill level, shortage status, labour-market condition or equivalent?

This is a notification rather than a qualification-based permit: what must be shown is the corporate relationship and health cover for accidents at work and sickness in the Principality of Andorra during the provision of services.

Limits of the record
  • The page sets no qualification, salary, occupation or experience requirement, and does not describe any assessment of the worker's professional profile.

What work does the permission allow? Is the holder tied to an employer, occupation or sector? Can family accompany where clearly established?

The notification permits residence and the execution of only those short works, and only up to 30 calendar days per calendar year. The official source does not state whether family may accompany.

Limits of the record
  • The page gives no family or dependant rights, and does not state what happens once the 30-day annual limit is reached; longer works fall under the separate H.2 authorisation.

How long is the permission normally granted for, how is it renewed, and what longer-term residence direction exists if officially stated?

The permission is bounded by the limit of 30 calendar days per calendar year and by the works themselves. The official source does not state a renewal procedure or a longer-term residence direction.

Limits of the record
  • The page describes no renewal procedure and no progression from this notification to any residence or work authorisation.
