What education or training is this pathway designed for?

The F authorisation covers immigration for studies, training internships, high-level sports training or scientific or similar research. The study branch is for a newly arrived person who wants to live in Andorra to study at a teaching establishment located in the Principality and recognised by the Government, providing training leading to official qualifications or its own training approved by the ministry responsible for education.

What type of institution/course must accept or enrol the applicant?

The institution must be a teaching establishment located in the Principality of Andorra and recognised by the Government, providing training leading to official qualifications or its own training approved by the ministry responsible for education. Enrolment must be evidenced by an academic enrolment document with the calendar of the planned studies, together with documents proving the content and duration of the studies and documents establishing the exclusive condition of student.

What are the most important financial or study-related conditions: tuition, funds, insurance, full-time study, attendance or equivalent?

The applicant must document economic means of 100% of the Andorran minimum wage (three payslips and the CASS points extract for an employee, otherwise a bank solvency certificate and a sworn declaration of income), with household income of at least 100% of the minimum wage per adult in the same home and 70% per minor. Health insurance covering 100% of any medical or health expense during the planned period is required, with a sworn undertaking to renew it to the expiry of the authorisation if the policy is shorter. Documents establishing the exclusive condition of student must also be filed.

Aquests mitjans han de representar el 100% del salari mínim d’Andorra, i s’han de demostrar amb una còpia dels tres darrers butlletins de salari i l’extracte de punts de la CASS si es tracta d’un assalariat, o bé amb un certificat bancari de solvència i una declaració jurada d’ingressos en els altres casos. Així mateix, cal acreditar que la suma dels ingressos representa, per a cada una de les persones majors d’edat que conviuen a la mateixa llar, un import igual o superior al 100% del salari mínim d’Andorra i, per a cada un dels menors d’edat, un import igual o superior al 70% del salari mínim d’Andorra.     Document acreditatiu d’una assegurança sanitària que cobreixi al 100% qualsevol despesa mèdica o sanitària durant el període previst. Si, a títol excepcional, la pòlissa no cobreix tot el període previst, la persona que fa la sol·licitud ha de presentar una declaració jurada en la qual es compromet a renovar-la fins a la data de caducitat de la seva autorització.

Can the student work? Under what major restrictions? What is the family position where clearly stated?

The authorisation permits study and residence only while the studies last; the page grants no work rights with it, and documents establishing the exclusive condition of student must be filed. Where the applicant is a minor, the application is completed and signed by the legal representative or guardian, who must also name the Andorran national, resident, institution or entity entrusted with the minor's care and provide that party's express acceptance, plus evidence of the representative's economic means and minimum habitability conditions.

En cada cas, el Servei d’Immigració pot fer comparèixer la persona física o el representant legal de la persona jurídica a l’efecte de comprovar que n’accepta la guarda.

How long does the status last, how is it renewed, and what officially documented post-study work or residence possibilities exist?

The study immigration authorisation lasts the same as the school year; for training internships, high-level sports training or research the duration is that of the activity. Renewal of a study authorisation runs through the separate F.1 procedure. The official source does not state a post-study work permission or any transition to a residence and work authorisation.
