Which exceptional-talent, academic, scientific, artistic, technological, cultural or other profiles does the pathway target?

D.1.3 is Andorra's residence for reasons of scientific, cultural and sporting interest, a branch of the D.1 residence-without-work authorisation. It targets a newly arrived foreign individual who enjoys international recognition for their talent in the world of science, culture or sport. It allows the holder to live in Andorra while the authorisation is valid and to continue carrying out the professional activities proper to them, provided their main recipients are people or entities not resident in Andorra.

The applicant must prove international recognition for their talent in science, culture or sport through a curriculum vitae detailing academic training and experience in the field, any information allowing proper assessment of the conditions (in particular any prize, title, award or academic, cultural, artistic or sporting recognition received) and documents justifying the curriculum data, in particular the award of such prizes, titles, distinctions and recognitions. A copy of any document evidencing the income from that activity in the year before the authorisation is also required.

The holder may continue the professional activities proper to them, but at least 85% of the services provided must be used in a country or territory other than Andorra and the main recipients must be people or entities not resident in Andorra. Dependants are recognised through the extra 9,500 euro deposit for each dependant acquiring resident status on these grounds, and through the insurance and income conditions, which add 100% of the annual minimum-wage indicator for each dependant. What duration, renewal and accelerated or normal longer-term residence pathway is officially stated?

The initial residence-without-work authorisation is granted for two years, the first renewal for two years, the second for three years and subsequent renewals for ten years, except for nationals of states that have signed and ratified a convention with Andorra, who are referred to the D.2 procedure. The holder must keep main and effective residence in Andorra for at least 90 days per calendar year and must register with the comu of the parish of residence within one month of the grant, proving that registration within the same period.
